The Lake of Dragons (Temeraire)
Um, more than 2 years later...

( Temeraire, who is a dragon, in a sort-of-lake )

I was going to do something less literal, but I really enjoyed the Temeraire series, and Temeraire really does take baths in lakes, so. Hee.

Fic Challenge
Those Who Cross and Connect

Time travel. Aliens. Perseverance over adversity. Children who don't quite fit in. Finding one's soulmate where one least expects it. Faith. The power of love and hope over darkness. The interconnectedness between all living things, no matter how small.  Finding the happy medium. Unicorns and time travel and even a cherubium. These are all themes prevalent in the writing of Madeleine L'Engle, and themes often found in the source material that makes up our favorite fic.

We ('we' being hyperfocused and fox1013) have loved Madeleine L'Engle for years, and see so much potential for amazing fic based off phrases she's used and stories she's told. In honor of "A Wrinkle in Time" finally being aired as a TV movie on ABC Monday night, we're issuing The Madeleine L'Engle Title Challenge.

We took the titles of all of Madeleine L'Engle's books, and many chapters within them. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to turn these titles into your own creative endeavor.

Multi-Fandom, Original Fic, Art, Poetry, Essays. You name it, we want it. As long as it's inspired by one of the titles listed below. If you write something specifically L'Engle related, we will be extra excited, of course.

We've established a community for the results of this challenge, as well as anything we want to remind you of: tesseraction. Please join and submit your work there. There will also be an archive.

As Madeleine says, "There's very little difference in the size of the tiniest microbe and the greatest galaxy". Therefore, your entries can be any size as well. (We'd prefer artwork smaller than a galaxy, so it doesn't crash Fox's server, of course).

Someone said, "It's all been done before."

Yes, I agreed, but we all have to say it in our own voice.

--Madeleine L'Engle, accepting her American Library Association Lifetime Achievement Award

Take these titles. Find your voice. And share it with the world, or at the very least, with us.
